My Journey

Image
My Journey with VIDA and my Signature Collection I found a company that actually reached out to me to encourage utilizing my art and design background to design high-end clothing.  Since finishing my certification in graphic design, it gave me the ability and expertise to follow through with my designing ability; my imagination kicked into gear!  I have worked with several manufacturers to produce backpacks, tote bags, pillows and other accessories but never had the opportunity to produce silk and high-end clothing and accessories.  I am so excited to see the quality and beauty of these products!  I have just started with my very own signature collection!  As I come out with new designs and products, I will post them and my journey with VIDA.  Each time a product is purchased you are supporting literacy, education and women's rights.  Make a statement by buying my signature collection, personally designed by me.  To view other designs just click below.  http://www.sh

Be Held by a God that won't let go!

Image
Just be Held! We are back here again....thinking about just being held!  Oh doesn't life hit you out of nowhere and barely leave you holding on.  Take a long, slow, deep breath when you are tired of fighting your own chain of control.  In my mind's eye I see a picture of a small bird perched on a tiny, fragile branch with words over-laid on the page  that say, "Cast your care on Him for He cares for you." The picture reminds me of life; sometimes so fragile, how delicate it all is.  The branch could break, the wind could blow swiftly.  The storm is just around the corner.  Just perched on a tiny, fragile branch with words swirling around you like a strong gust of wind.   A swirl of sickness, a swirl of bitterness, the swirl of separation, that hits your heart like a sharp, painful piercing object. This week I had the joy of sitting bedside with a dear friend who has been fighting a battle of cancer.  Bravery is her middle name!  She struggled to talk an

Faith

Image
Faith  Do you have a friend who can keep you accountable?  A friend that reminds you of your own instability or the real truth of who you are?  Who wants to hear about our weaknesses as humans?  It's like having someone hit you over the head with a wooden plank!  It's downright PAINFUL!!!  Are we true to ourselves, or do we have a fake facade?   The Lord brought me a word today, that felt like a wooden plank!  Don't we often want him to just cuddle us and pamper us and spoil us!  Who doesn't.  But, as a Father wanting the very best for and from us, He always needs to give us truth!  Of course don't forget the grace - (His arms around us as He teaches and instructs.) A friend and I were talking about losing weight and focusing on eating with a healthier lifestyle in mind.  I think deep inside we each think that being a little over weight makes us unattractive.  However, what God says about being unattractive has nothing to do with being over-weight.  Y

Gouldian finch    Purim -  Story found in the book of Esther It's the time of year to dress up and to Celebrate and to sing!  When I witness God's beautiful creations such as this Gouldian finch, it makes me want to start the party!  It's the time of year to realize who we are in Christ Jesus!  It's the time of year to know you too our the Father's princess and the Queen of the King!  He has favor over YOU!   So put on your colorful feathers, and prance and praise you King of Kings and Lord of Lords! This little guy already has his costume built in bright and vibrant colors!  It isn't often we read the book of Esther in the Bible, but this coming Sunday in many places this celebration will take place among the Jewish people, in remembrance of this fascinating story.  It also brings to mind what God has done for us as His people.  He has rescued us from sin and death

The Journey

Through tears I find you here again.   I was listening to a beautiful song today called “Find you here”, by Ellie Holcomb.   Some songs just pierce the heart deeper than what you could ever imagine.   Some songs carry such a strong witness, the REAL of life.   How do we take and place one foot in front of another when we have had such disappointment here in life?   Her song rings loud in my ears and heavy on my heart as I enter the threshold of my doorway, as tears trickle down my cheeks, yet another day.   Her voice rings out, “it’s not the news that any of us hoped we would hear.   It’s not the road we would have chosen, no the only thing that we can see is darkness ahead.   Then between the lyrical words, His voice speaks softly.   I am asking you to lay your worry down and sing a song instead.    It echoed within my soul, the melody penetrating my heart, head and soul -sing a song instead, He says?” I didn’t know I’d find Him there?   In the middle of my deepest fear

Love

When we are filled with self, there is no room for anyone else.  I woke up the other morning with this quote on my mind.  It is so easy to withdraw within ourselves  Lacking -. (of a person, action, or motive) lacking consideration for others; concerned chiefly with one's own personal profit or pleasure:  It is good to take an inventory of the heart to see where or if there is lack?   Is the heart in a state of being without?  Or not having enough of something, such as love? How do we cultivate love?  It doesn't just happen as we often think it should.  It is a choice!  It is choosing to be patient when the situation is chaotic.  It is choosing to be kind, when we feel like lashing out in the inside.  It is protecting by NOT saying anything, when all we feel like doing is to project stinking thinking verbally.  Choose to trust, because another person often acts out the way we treat them.  Always keep the mindset of hope.  God says we have the blessed hope.  This is w

The Season!

Image
Each time I see a baby, my heart witnesses a miracle.  The beautiful miracle of birth.  The ultimate gift!  The priceless one, beyond what money could every buy!  The verses that come to mind as we witness a new birth are found in  Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.  A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;  A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;  A time to get, and a time to lose, a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.  A time to love, and a time to hate, a time of war, and a time of peace.  My heart holds to a Savior, who w
