A free gift!

A free Gift

My life has crossed paths with a man whom has studied the Torah and has been under the instruction of a Rabbi for the past few years and we have had several discussions concerning "Grace" and what it means when it comes to Christ as our Savior and Deliverer.  I have wanted to know more about the Torah since I do believe in Christ's birth, life, death and resurrection in order to give us life..."grace" if you will.  The Torah (first five books of the Bible) begins the story with the creation of the earth and man. And it describes the leniage of  how and why Christ had to be born in order for us to receive this precious gift of grace.

What does the Kings James Bible say about grace?  What is the definition of grace and does it mean the same thing as what the dictionary depicts?

the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.

Click on the link below to learn more of what the Bible has to say about grace.

Does grace give us opportunity to sin? 1 Corinthians 6:12   -  All things are lawful to me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
1 Corinthians 10:23

Jesus Fulfills the Law - Matthew 5:17
17"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18"For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.…

Have the laws brought forth by Moses been abolished due to the free gift of grace given to us by Christ? (For by grace are you saved through faith, lest any man should boast, it is a gift of God - Ephesians 2:8) In Phillipians chapter one, verse 27, Paul and Timothy tell the church "Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.

In Romans 6:15 and 16  What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!16Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?…

When I feel anxious about reading the truth of God's word, he doesn't stop by telling us obedience, obedience, obedience....He goes on to say...Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say, rejoice!  Let your gentleness be known to all men.  The Lord is at hand.  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4: 4-7.  So grace grows in the knowledge and understanding of Yeshua (Christ Jesus)!

Can this free gift be ours without Him?
Romans 5:17 - One man's offense death reighed through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One Jesus Christ.

Thank you my friend for your time and discussions, I look forward to many more!

Let us be like minded -
Philippians 2:2 “Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.”
