Revealing the Heart!
Inspired by the LIVING word of GOD

It has been awhile since I have blogged and it is almost a new year!  Did you know that each day reveals the heart?  The heart is exposed by the decisions we make, by our actions, by the things we say, what we think, how we act, what we do!

It makes me shiver to think my heart may be exposed, just out there, naked before the world.  The more we remove layers, the colder it seems to become.  Until one day we realize our heart is frozen in indifference.  What are the layers I am talking about?  As we grow in this world, we learn to cover our heart so it isn't exposed to the natural elements of this world; at least we think our heart isn't exposed.  Until hurt creeps in slowly, breaking it apart, rips off those emotional blankets we have so carefully placed, piece by piece, by rejection, betrayal, hurtful words, by loss, by suffering.  No one is exempt, no one!

Sometimes we do a pretty good job at covering our heart or disguising it.  No one will ever know it is raw, or broken, maybe even shattered!  We cover it with indifference, with mistrust, with hatred, with lies.  Our heart beats not only blood, but it beats emotion; It beats life and some hearts beat toward death.

Our mind and heart are so closely connected.  So as we think, so we are.  So as our heart beats, so we live.  What is your life like today? What are your thoughts today?  You don't have to share them with me; but did you know that your thoughts control each moment of your day?  Your thoughts determine whether you will have a heart filled with joy, or a heart that is filled with turmoil, dread, fear and ugliness.  Sometimes we just need a gentle wake up call as to what we are thinking and know we have the power to change any circumstance.  We may not have the power to change what is going on the outside of us; but we do have the power to change the inside.of us.  We have the power to change the heart!  We have the power to change the mind!

In fairness, I cannot expose the heart without exposing the power we have to change or cover (protect it) from such elements that destroy.  The power I am talking about is the power of LOVE!  The power to renew our mind that connects so closely with the heart.  Where is LOVE?  What is genuine love?  Where can it be found and how can it transform the heart?

Our heart becomes what we feed it.  If we feed it unhealthy, it becomes unhealthy.  If we feed it with good nutrition, it becomes strong and healthy!  Who and what can we trust to give us a strong and healthy heart?  We all want to trust, right?  But who and what?  When we are young we trust our parents to give us what we need to survive.  Then some of us find out when we get older that our parents may not have given us what we needed to survive happily and healthy.  They may not have had the ability to do so.  So, we blame them.  Or we blame someone else that has influences our life.

Psalms 118:8  - The center verse in the Bible

"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man."

Lets start the new year right!  Stop trusting in man and put your trust where it will be safe and protected and your heart will be covered.

Homework for the heart! - Read Psalms 121 - The chapter
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence comes my help.  My help comes from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.  He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:  he that keeps thee will not slumber.

The primary reason for this blog is to share hope and to share those things that will produce a healthy, happy and protected heart!

What is Love and where does it come from?  1 John 4:8 - God is LOVE
The attributes of LOVE - Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, Temperance - Lets live and walk in the Spirit of Love! Galatians 5:25

Until tomorrow - Psalms 36:7

"How excellent is thy loving-kindness, O God!  Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.  They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures!"

Start today - by renewing your mind with the pleasures of the Lord!

Lord willing, I will share more of His pleasures tomorrow!

Happy New Year!  Happy Heart!
