Judgement

Judgement

Today's blog is directed towards believers - those who have faith in Jesus Christ as their Messiah.  As we read Matthew 7:1-3 it tells us to be careful when we judge because this same measure will be given unto you.  Most of us see these verses as NOT to judge at all.  It all happened in the garden so many years ago.  Was there judgement so many years ago when Eve was deceived by the serpent by eating the fruit of the tree of good and evil? Do we see people's actions, always as a beautiful garden? What does our own conscience tell us when it comes to judging things and actions around us? Does all judgement belong to God? Do we leave all discernment up to God?

In 1 Corinthians 2:15 it says "But the person who has the Spirit can evaluate everything, while no one is in a position to evaluate him." - we are to have the mind of the Messiah!

Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why behold thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considers not the beam that is in thine own eye?
In today's society and the searing of man's conscience concerning morals and good, healthy, and holy living, how can we not discern man's actions and motives?

As I read - I Corinthians chapter five, it not only says to judge the actions of the believers, but to not even eat with the brothers and sisters that are engaging in sexual immorality, in greed, worshiping idols, is abusive, gets drunk or steals! In verse 13 it states that God will be the judge of people outside of the faith and he tells us to expel the evildoer from among ourselves!  It also says in 1 Corinthians chapter 6 that God's people are going to judge the universe! Don't you know that we will judge angels, not to mention affairs of everyday life?  So if you require judgments about matters of everyday life, why do you put them in front of men who have no standing in the Messianic Community?

Titus 1:13 -
This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith
and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the merely human commands of those who reject the truth.

God's love goes full circle as you will see in 1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

What is the mind of Christ?  FORGIVENESS!  What is the attribute of Forgiveness - Repentance
(cease and desist evil actions - go in the opposite direction)

God cannot apply forgiveness, unless there is true repentance.  I think we often leave this element out when petitioning God.

God always leaves us with hope!

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!

12I know how to live humbly, and I know how to abound. I am accustomed to any and every situation—to being filled and being hungry, to having plenty and having need. 13I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. 14Nevertheless, you have done well to share in my affliction.…Philippians 4:13
