My cup runs over!

Image
My cup Runs over! Tonight's blog is for me; but I will share it!  By the way this has to be the worse painting I have ever done! But, it still slightly resembles a few cups that look like they are about ready to fall over!  Yup, that's me today.  And to be honest, everyday if I don't stay focused on the light of His word.  What does your cup hold?  Is your stack of do's and don't ready to do you in?  Like shatter all over the floor?  What does your soul look like this morning, or should I ask?  I don't know about you but some days I need to just empty my cup (my soul) with the bitter, mixed up with worry and lies, and any other kind of junk that clogs things up, tip it over and spill it out.  Drain out the bad and fill it up with the good! Let the Lord refill it!   The coffee was bitter today, too strong, not smooth and just not the kind of cup I wanted to start my day with!  So, I envision my soul being poured out until there is room for strong, sm

Practicing the presence of God!

Practicing the presence of God!  Looking out the window this morning I was pondering on how do you practice the presence of God?  While I clicked the camera to capture new birds as they appeared on the scene, my heart felt thankful.  It isn't the birds that I worship, but a God (the spirit of love) that creates these majestic creatures.  John 4:24 - God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.  When the world becomes so noisy and loud, it is so distracting!  You can lose sight of His Spirit and His Love, if you are not diligently looking for it.  He never leaves or forsakes us, (that spirit of Love) but sometimes we grow further from it.  We are like sheep, going our own way. 1 Peter 2:25.  The only way that the spirit of love can communicate with us, is through His word.  The only way I will see the birds is through feeding them.  This is how God feeds us, is through His word.  When we feel alone, His promise is "I will never le

Love your Neighbor!

Love your Neighbor! A friend of mine and I were talking yesterday about facebook and how people hide you if they are annoyed or just don't want to see your content.  I was thinking to myself, why have facebook, if everyone is hiding you and you them?  Well, regardless of how social media is structured; God tells us to love our neighbor!  In fact, this is one of His most important commandments! "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despite fully use you, and persecute you." Mathew 5:44. So, He not only tells us to love our neighbor; but to also love our enemies.  Ouch, how difficult is that?  It can't be done in the flesh!  We need to lean on the Holy Spirit as we walk-out our love.  He also tells us that it is easy to love those that love us.  What reward do you receive as you love those that already love you?  Matthew 5:46  Leviticus 19:18 There is a story found in Lu

To live is Christ!

To live is Christ!  The blog is a little different in style tonight.  Lighthearted and playful.  I'm really having fun painting again! I really think that one day Heaven will be like this, lighthearted and full of JOY!  Jesus said, bring your burdens to me, when they are heavy.  He reminds us that His burdens are light and he can handle them much better than we can. We can so easily lose our way in this world with trials and tribulation, with sickness and poverty.  Bitterness creeps in like a thick forest of trees and you realize that you can't find your way out!  Before you know it, we are lost in emotion, we feel no more joy!  Where is the Love?  Our hearts have slowly lost the hope that we so desperately try to hold on to.  We all have somehow lost our way!    "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."  Isaiah 53:6   "For ye were as sheep going astray; bu

The silent Prayer!

Image
The Silent Prayer  When you pray enter into your closet, and when thou has shut thy door, pray to the Father which is in secret; and thy Father which can see in secret (something kept unseen and unknown by others) shall reward thee openly.  Your Father knows what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.  Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.  Do you often find that you pray without ceasing? There is so much to pray about.  When we are silent with our prayer; God sees and hears our heart.   If you are reading this now, my prayer is for you and whatever your need is, God knows it already!  Heart Homework:  James 5:16

A Gift

Image
A Gift!  1 Timothy 4:14 God has given us so many gifts!  The first one and most important is the gift of salvation (John 3:16)!  Then, there is grace, mercy and forgiveness, as far as the east is from the west.  The gifts of the fruit of the spirit.  The gift of peace and long suffering.  He has given us armor to protect us and keep us strong in the faith, His word!  He has given us a secret place to abide. He also gives us personal gifts.  Some are meant to preach or teach.  We are like a human body of Christ.  Some are the hands, some are the feet, some gifted in hospitality, and some who are the eyes of  God, that can recognize the brokenhearted.  Out of His abundant love, comes so many wonderful gifts!  Have you recognized your gifts yet?  If you are lacking in Joy, maybe you are not unwrapping and enjoying the gifts He has given you? The way to experience joy is to utilize the gifts that God has given us.  Wouldn't it be disappointing to go to a birthday party

Revealing the Heart of God!

Image
Revealing the Heart!  Sometimes we need to just start over.  In fact each day is new, as we renew our minds and soak our soul with truth.  Our God has taken our problems and turned them into promises.  Our brokenness into beauty!  He has taken our messy lives and weaved in His mercy.  He has transformed the garbage that we sometimes fill our minds with, and turned it into grace!  He has seized our lack and made it Love!  A miracle!   This week we are celebrating the RISEN Savior. " In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher.  And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.  His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:  And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.  And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear
