The un-caged bird always sings!

Image
The Un-caged bird always sings! Are you denied a place at the table of human kindness?  Can your soul prosper in hostile environment?  Can you dance among sorrow and suffering, and smile among the face of grief?  How can we widen the table to include the outcast, the estranged, and even the enemy?  How can we widen the table to include our messy and deprived self?  The flesh that is so easily snared.  Is it all about that momentary picture in your mind?  Or is it the picture of the one that can un-cage the bird to always sing! Who is that one? What is the song saying, is it relaying the message of the outrageously, hospitable love of God!  The birdhouse that is filled and overflowing with food.  The word being ingested.  It brings hearth to the human heart.  The song converts an unending process of submitting ourselves anew every moment of every day.   Don't skip a moment, because that could be the moment of forgiveness, that desperate minute of grace, the swift, c

I am the Way!

Image
I am the Way!  Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life.  No man comes to the Father, but by me."  Do we take this literally or as a metaphor?"  When do your convictions hit the cold, hard pavement of reality?  I, personally, have a hard time saying "no".  I want to please those around me.  And to be perfectly honest, my flesh wants to be rich, not only in faith but in riches you obtain on earth, materialist things.  The question is, what will stay alive and thriving as I continue to feed it, the flesh and it's lust, or my faith and it's JOY?  This past week I had a neighbor ask me to do a project for them.  It could lead to some substantial funds in the future; but the problem is, it goes against my faith.  The project contained manifestations of another religious belief.  Stating there are more ways than one to have fellowship with God.  The belief was thought that through the years God has sent other manifestations similar to Je

Successful Journey!

Image
Successful Journey  What is your story?  What if God saw your heart?  What would he see?  How is your life's journey today?  To me, a successful journey always includes a Savior.  A friend, a shepherd of the heart.  Someone that knows you from the inside out.  A partner in life that only knows and expresses unconditional love.  A guide, my Lord -  a name for  God ; it  means  that he has authority, or 'master'; Adonai in Hebrew . Psalms 104 - The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.  Great is His mercy, as far as the Heaven's above!  As the east meets the west, so far  hath he removed our transgressions.  Once the east meets the west, the sin no longer exists. The path is covered with His mercy and grace - everything I need to have a successful journey, not only here; but for eternity. " O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.  Then will I g

Abundant Life!

Image
Abundant Life!  Do we really think about scripture when we read it?  Or do you glaze over it and go right on thinking about something else?  Sometimes I look up words to see what the definition is, just to find out more about what that word really means!  Today I choose the word "abundant" and this is what came up as the definition:   Plentiful, copious, ample, profuse, rich, lavish, abounding, liberal, generous, bountiful, large, huge, great, overflowing! So what God is saying in John 10:10 is that he came to give us life; not just an ordinary life, but an abundant life, a life filled with plenty, profusely rich, lavish and abounding!  He wants to give us a liberal and generous life, large, great and bounteous!  If you are a parent, then you have some idea of what you want for your own children.  How much more does God love us?  He gave us the most precious thing anyone could; he gave us His Son!  His only son!  He came as a man so we might live!  Not j

Still pursuing peace!

Image
Still Pursuing Peace!  I am still in pursuit of peace.  God says in Romans to follow after the things which make for peace and those things that edify (uplift, teach and enlighten) another. I really have no words to add to the pursuit of peace; but God does.  "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, (  a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen)  through the power of the Holy Ghost!  When I read the definition of hope it brought to mind the tapes that I have been listening to by Joyce Meyers.  Part of the series talks about how "Amazing" God, really is!  She encourages us to seek Him and ask Him to show us His love!  So, I am conscientiously seeking His love and looking forward to it; expecting it on a daily basis.  And I can bear witness that just today, He showed me His love in so many special ways!  Being conscious of it, brings my heart to a place of thanksgiving, and to an atmo

Seek after Peace!

Image
Seek after Peace!  I have noticed on facebook that it pricks and pokes my flesh; such as creates feelings of jealousy, envy, covetousness, judgement and sometimes anger.  I speak out of my deprivation and a messy heart, that needs to be washed daily with a very generous dose of God's love.  I think Satan tries to kill your soul with these emotions.  Needless to say I will be seeking far less of facebook and far more of the face of God, who promises me an abundant life!  A life filled with peace and an all consuming grace! It is a risk to expose the flesh for what it is.   With the flesh I serve the law of sin; but with a renewed mind, I serve a living, loving God! Where His light exposes the flesh for what it is. (Don't get me wrong, there are things I do appreciate about facebook, being able to see pictures of my family, share good times and bad times with friends, share in prayer for those that are ill and encourage and edify those in need, and to be able to shar

What will you think?

Image
What will you think?  Why is it so difficult to believe the truth!  The truth sets our mind free to believe that which is lovely, true and of good report! Philippians 4:8  God says his thoughts are precious toward us, how great is the sum of them!  He thinks of us constantly! His thoughts are more than the grains of sand.  When we are awake or if we sleep, He is still there.   The enemy is not very smart, because with his lies, he chases me to the arms of a loving Savior!  He forces me to lean on a God that heals the broken hearted!  He challenges me to search out the heart of love and forgiveness! (deep affection, I can address my Lord as my beloved)  I don't just walk, but I run after Him that can give me living water!  (The Samaritan at the well) I run to touch His hem; and wait for Him to tell me that your faith has set you free and made thee whole!  Mathew 9:22 The word “ forgive ”  means  to wipe the slate clean, to pardon, to cancel a debt. When we wrong s
