Do it Anyway!

Image
Do it Anyway!  The reflection is beautiful!  How often do we "do it anyway"?  When I sat down tonight to write the blog, I was feeling like I really didn't want to do it.  How often does the alarm clock ring early in the morning and you don't really want to get up!  Or we don't really want to go to church, but we go anyway.  Or when I get home from work, I go swimming for two hours to have a stronger heart, and to fight diabetes....my feelings say, "I don't want to do this"!   Or even harder still there is a difficult person you work with or have as a friend who has pushed every button you can imagine, sending signals that you need to go away, instead of sending them away or you go away, you love them anyway!  I find that when you get to the end of your rope and you feel your grip slipping and you feel like you cannot hold anymore because you don't have the strength - it is then God gives you more!  More of "do it anyway".

He is Greater!

He is Greater!  On reviewing a sermon shared by a friend, I wanted to go over each section and maybe split it into another blog later on.  Before I get started, I want to thank my daughter for the beautiful sunset picture taken at lake Olivia!  Just a reminder of how great is the hand that created the Heavens and the earth!  Shema Sh'ma Israel Adonal Eloheynu Adonai Echad Baruch Shehm Kvod Malchuto Le Olam Va'ed Hear O Israel: The Lord Our God The Lord is One Blessed by the name Of His Glorious Majesty Forever and ever Amen  Sola Deo Gloria!  To God alone be the Glory!  The introduction starts like this:  There is a warning that goes with tonight's lesson.  "Fasten your seatbelts, we are in for a ride!"  The lesson talks about evil forces in the world, yet we seldom take them into consideration as we live our daily lives?  How often do we rely on ourselves or other sources, like confidence in our own abilities,

Back Pain - is it punishment from God?  A friend of mine asked me to write a blog about Back pain and is it a punishment from God?  We often think of God as being a very loving God, and He is! Romans 5:8 - He loved us while we were yet in sin!  John 3:16 - He gave us His only son to be the redeemer and deliverer from sin!  Are we then tempted of God through illness and pain?  No, it says in James 1:13 -  Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man. So, we know that God cannot or does not tempt anyone.  However, evil can tempt us and does on a daily basis.  Could it be that we suffer from past iniquity from generations ago?  Numbers 14:18  … 17 "But now, I pray, let the power of the Lord be great, just as You have declared,  18 The LORD is slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of th

Catfishing

Image
Catfishing I want to cover a couple of concepts today that could involve “misconception” and also “deception”.   I have titled the first part of the blog as “catfishing”.   Well, before I get started today with my blog, I want to thank Donna Snow for the beautiful artwork she gave to me to use for today’s blog!   You are awesome Donna! As you view the artwork you will see more than one image creating a collage with fish and ultimately looking like a beautiful butterfly.   And yes it is bright, vivid and real! (a labor of love). You might ask, what is catfishing?  The first thing that comes to my mind when mentioning catfishing is when I was a young girl we took fishing poles and baited them with bread dough while at my aunt’s house in Sarasota.  What a fish story (a REAL story).  We actually caught close to 100 catfish right from her water canal.  As a child this was so much fun, mixed with excitement! It was the only time I ever remember catching so many fish! Today’s

Precious Gem

"Precious Gem"  Sometimes we need a word of encouragement, the spirit of love to just rest on our shoulders.  His personal and priceless, whisper right in our ear.  Recently I found that the word "Leshem" is a Hebrew word that means "Precious gem"!  As we live our life in this world, it easily consumes our worth, or tries to; but in all circumstances and situations, God will continue to restore, if you allow Him.  As we continue to believe and have faith the Lord will provide those words we long to hear.  We are His beloved.  In Proverbs 3:15 God tells us we are more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire compares to your worth.   16  Then they that feared the  Lord  spake often one to another: and the  Lord  hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the  Lord , and that thought upon his name. 17  And they shall be mine, saith the  Lord  of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewel

Principles to live by

Principles to live by Why use principles in God's word?  Most people ignore them, or are too busy to even find out what they are?  Each day that I search God's word,  each moment seems more important to search out His word and find out what His principles are.  I guess the question is, do you love Him?  If we love Him we continue to find out more about Him and what he feels and thinks of us as His creation.  What He tells us is best for us and His wisdom to guide and direct.  In tonight's blog, I want to start out with just 5 basic principles of God's word.  It's a start in living a life that is closer to holiness than maybe we have experienced in the past.   1.   Let's follow what is clearly revealed - "Everything in the Scriptures is God's Word.  All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live.  The Scriptures train God's servants to do all kinds of good deeds" (2 Timo
