To Live is to Love!

To Live is to Love!

Recently I have been studying the Torah, or God's instruction and teachings from the ancient days.  These are the books that Christ studied while he was here on earth.  Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy,  Within the context of the study, I have discovered that as a Christian some of the current Holidays that I have observed for all these years were actually pagan and not found in the Bible at all.  One of those Holidays is Easter.  However, I do believe certain truths about the current season.  I believe that Passover took place during this season.  I also believe that Christ was crucified, buried and arose on the third day during this same season.  I cannot connect bunnies, and colored eggs to any of the Biblical events.  (One more thing from the enemy to take our focus off of the true spirit of love) And it doesn't mention Easter?  For a more thorough understanding of the timeline of Christ I have provided a link.

Please click on the link below showing the time line of events.  I found this to be very interesting!

Christ's life while here on earth reflected the title I have used for my blog today, "To Live is to Love!" We are all looking for the answers and to get it right while we are here on this earth.  I don't know about you, but I am.  Our time is short.  All of us only have 80-120 years to get it right!  Some less.  I'm not talking about the perfection that this world has to give.  I am talking about the perfection in Christ.

I think one of the most important verses in the Bible is found in the new testament and it is all connected to the old testament.  In John 3:16 it says "For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish but have eternal life! (This goes for ALL, not just the Jews) Then the next verse says, " God didn't send His son to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.  God himself explaining and showing what true love was.

Who is this Son of God?  And how did He act and what did he do while he was here on this earth? His name was Yeshua, (Hebrew - for Jesus.)   Jesus was born a Jewish man and in God's word, it states that the Jewish people were God's people.   Deuteronomy 7:6.  (see 1 Kings 3:88:53Psalm 105:43Isaiah 43:465:9; and Amos 3:2). He practiced and observed the Jewish lifestyle and traditions according to scripture.

Jesus brought the Jews and Gentiles together in Ephesians 2:14. I think the one thing we all know is that the Messiah was and is well known for love, healing and giving hope for a dying world.    Part of this spring season consisted of a time of Passover and during this celebration it was common to have a feast.  Before Christ's death, he took part in this last supper before His death and resurrection!

Possessing the Treasure!

The four cups of wine of Passover.

  • The Cup of Sanctification – based on God’s statement, “I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians”
  • The Cup of Judgment or Deliverance- based on God’s statement, “I will deliver you from slavery to them”
  • The Cup of Redemption – based on God’s statement, “I will redeem you with an outstretched arm”
  • The Cup of Praise or Restoration – based on God’s statement, “I will take you to be my people, and I will be your God”
Each cup shows the loving kindness of our God.  He has brought us out and from under the burden of sin and has delivered us from the slavery to sin.  His arms are outstretched in love toward us with His redemption, as from glory to glory we are redeemed!  He is restoring His people today from moment to moment!
Possessing the Treasure is knowing who God is!

And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. (Luke 22:19-20 ESV)
Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread are closely linked. Passover symbolized the deliverance of Israel from captivity in Egypt. However, in the institution of it and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, leaven was searched out in each home in order to remove it. No leaven could be in the home. Why? This symbolized our need to search out the leaven of sin in our lives that is necessary for us to be obedient servants of the Lamb.

Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. (1 Corinthians 11:28 ESV)
After the lighting of the candles, the Brechat Haner, the four cups of wine portion of the feast begins. The leader would then say, “As we read through the Haggadah, we will drink of ‘cup of the fruit of the vine,’ four times. These four cups stand for the four “I wills” that are recorded in Exodus 6:6-7.
Say therefore to the people of Israel, ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from slavery to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment. I will take you to be my people, and I will be your God, and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who has brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. (Exodus 6:6-7 ESV)
As the Lord spoke these words to Moses, He revealed to him the plan by which He would redeem the children of Israel. In a prophetic sense, God was also revealing how He would redeem His elect to become His children. Based on the four promises in the passage above we have the four cups of the Passover feast.

To read more about the Messiah during this time, you go to the Book of Matthew; Chapter 26, also Luke 22.

To conclude the season of recognizing both Christ's death and resurrection and to blend this with "To Live is to Love.  Lets remember that Christ didn't just die for our sins, but he rose again signifying eternal life for all who believe.  Love conquers all, the law, and even death!  Galatians 5:22-23.  I Corinthians, Chapter 13 - 1 Peter 4:8 -  1 John 5:10

May the Lords Peace be with you...Shalom
